Rhinitis and Rhino sinusitis
Rhinitis and rhinosinusitis are inflammatory conditions affecting the nasal mucosa and paranasal sinuses, respectively. Rhinitis, characterized by nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, and sneezing, can be allergic, non-allergic, or infectious in etiology. Allergic rhinitis involves IgE-mediated hypersensitivity to environmental allergens, whereas non-allergic rhinitis includes conditions such as vasomotor rhinitis or drug-induced rhinitis. Rhinosinusitis, defined by the inflammation of the sinus mucosa, presents with facial pain, purulent nasal discharge, and impaired sinus drainage.
