Biography: Professor Klapan graduated from Zagreb University School of Medicine. He has completed two postdoctoral studies from the same University (Clinical Immunology&Allergology, Otorhinolaryngology-Head&Neck Surgery) and his PHD (Zagreb University and Eye&Ear Institute, Pittsburgh University, PA, USA) at the age of 30 years. He is the founder/director of Klapan Medical Group University Polyclinic. He has published more than 110 papers in reputed journal.

Bio: Jeffrey Friedman, M.D. F.A.C.S., is as an assistant professor in the division of general surgery and a the director of bariatric surgery. Dr. Friedman earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi and completed his residency in general surgery at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama and Mary Imogene Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, New York. He served as a research fellow at the Mary Imogene Bassett Research Institute and as a minimally invasive surgery/bariatric surgery fellow at Sacred Heart Health System in Pensacola, Florida. Dr. Friedman has previously worked as assistant medical director of the Sacred Heart Institute for Medical Weight Loss, as medical director of the Baptist Healthcare Bariatric Program in Pensacola and as chief of the minimally invasive surgery/bariatric program at Previty Clinic for Surgical Care in Beaumont, Texas. He has twice received the American Medical Associations Physicians Recognition Award and is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the Pensacola Surgical Society and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons.

Having completed his Royal Australasian College of Surgeons fellowship in 2011, he then went on to complete post-fellowship training in the UK in rhinology. He operates at Linacre, Masada, Cabrini Malvern and Holmesglen Private. Publicly, he works at Western Health where he heads the multidisciplinary Head and Neck Cancer clinic.

Dr. Di Stadio is an Otolaryngologist, specialized in Otology/Neurotology, Facial Plastic Surgery, and Microsurgery. She is currently responsible for the Otolaryngology research line at the San Camillo Hospital IRCCS in Venice (Italy). Her research interests are the neurodegenerative disease. In particular, she studies the involvement of hearing pathways in the neurodegenerative disease as Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer, and Mitochondrial disease. She collaborates with the Columbia University of NY and the Wayne University in Detroit. She is the reviewer for several International peer-reviewed journals and she is the author of several articles published in International Journals

Neurodegeneration and innovative diagnosis and treatment

I was born in Rotterdam in 1954, followed my training as a physician in Leiden and then I followed my training as an ENT specialist in Nijmegen. After my education I spent 7 years as a staff member at the university hospital St Radboud and from 1997 onwards I worked in the Alrijne hospital in Leiderdorp. My first years there I have combined with a part-time appointment at the VU as a trainer in Ophthalmology. The latter stopped in 2000, allowing time to become a medical commentator at Business News Radio in addition to my work as an ENT specialist. The pleasure I derive from this is mainly due to the explanation of medical issues in language that everyone understands. I also try to do the same in my daily work as an ENT doctor, but there is an increasing lack of time for this. At ACIBADEM International Medical Center, that time is there: the patient is central and therefore gets all the time and space. A valuable addition to my work as an ENT doctor is the position of SCEN doctor, first in the South Holland North region and for some time in Amsterdam.

He began his career as a fellow at House Clinic and later joined the group as an Associate where he had a busy practice for 15 years. He now serves as Division Director of Otology, Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery in the USC Caruso Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Keck Medicine of USC. Additional areas of expertise include, cochlear implants, glomus tumors, otosclerosis, meningiomas, chronic ear disorders and chronic otitis media. He is an NIH funded scientist and his laboratory studies the genetics of common forms of hearing loss. Dr. Friedman belongs to a majority of the societies in his area of specialization, including the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Otological Society, the Acoustic Neuroma Association, the American Neurotology Society, the North American Skull Base Society, the Triological Society and the NIH/National Institute of Deafness and other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) where he serves as an Ad Hoc Reviewer
